First off, the box is classic Jordan — you know what you're getting. This "particular" Air Jordan 1 Mid colorway has a really clean, versatile look straight out of the box. The leather feels pretty standard for the price point (around $120), nothing super premium, but the construction is solid. It's that iconic silhouette, instantly recognizable. Comparing it to the OG High version… you lose some of that iconic collar height, but you also gain easier wearability. For $115 USD versus the often-higher High price, it’s a trade-off many are willing to make. The core DNA of the Jordan 1 is absolutely still there in this Mid model. Just got this Air Jordan 1 Mid 'Light Smoke Grey' in hand. Initial thoughts? The materials feel a step up – nice tumbled leather! The grey & white is super wearable. Putting them on... the ankle collar is stiff "initially", but the midfoot lockdown is good. Compared to my Dunks, the AJ1 Mid feels more structured. I love the classic basketball profile on foot. Downside? The outsole is a bit slippery on smooth surfaces. At around $120, it's a great entry into the Jordan series. But if you have wide feet? "Proceed with caution." Comparing it directly to a Jordan 1 High OG... the main difference is obvious: the collar height. The Mid cuts off just above the ankle bone. For me, it actually makes putting them on a bit easier. Some purists will always prefer the High's look, but for lifestyle wear, this Air Jordan 1 Mid is often more practical (and sometimes more affordable).
