It's not buttery-soft leather, it's more of a grained, durable finish. For the cost, it's acceptable. You won't get the luxury feel of some High OG releases, but that's reflected in the price. This "Jordan" series offering is about the silhouette and color first. It's built to last as a casual wear shoe. Putting these Air Jordan Mid 1s on feet... the fit is true to size for me. The ankle collar gives a nice, secure feel - it's not as restrictive as the Highs, which I actually prefer for everyday wear. The insole is pretty standard, so don't expect ultra-plush cushioning right out of the box. It's that familiar, supportive Jordan 1 feel. Conversely, who might want to skip? Hardcore performance basketball players—this isn't a modern performance model. Also, if you already own several OG Highs and are "only" interested in premium materials, the mids might feel like a step down. But remember, it's a different shoe with its own purpose! Don't sleep on the "Jordan 1 Mid" just because of the height. Now, the not-so-great part. The break-in period can be "real"—the heel and pinky toe area might rub for the first few wears. Also, that classic Jordan 1 outsole traction? It can get "slippery" on wet surfaces, so maybe not your go-to rain shoe. Just keeping it 100% with you guys.
