Just unboxed the Nike Air Jordan 1 'Chicago'... and wow, man. That classic silhouette? It never gets old. For around $180, you're getting a piece of history in a box. The leather feels decent, the red just "pops", and the build quality is solid for a retro. A straight-up icon, no question. So, I finally got my hands on this new 'Obsidian' Air Jordan 1... and wow, the colors are even better in person. That mix of university blue and obsidian? It's "super" versatile. On foot, the fit is true to size — nice and snug, especially in the heel. The ankle support is exactly what you expect from this model... which is to say, pretty good! It’s a bit stiff out of the box, but it breaks in. Comparing it to a newer Jordan model like the 5? The Jordan 1 is definitely lighter and more streamlined. Honestly, for style points and a classic look, it's unbeatable. Just don't expect a cloud-like ride. Just got these in the 'Shadow' colorway. IMO, this is the perfect "first" "Jordan 1" for anyone. Why? The grey/black leather is super versatile and hides wear & tear well. The $180 price tag is standard, but the value is in its timelessness. Downsides? Again, it's stiff initially. But break it in, and it molds to your foot. A wardrobe essential, for real. After wearing these 'Storm Blue' joints for a full day, my verdict? I love them—for shorter outings. The ankle support is fantastic, but you feel every step on hard floors. The leather breaks in okay, but it's a process. Would I recommend it? Yes, but with caveats. For a casual day out / hitting the city? Perfect. For a long day of walking or standing? Not my first choice. It's a situational shoe, but in those situations, it shines.
