It's more substantial than an AJ1, but often more wearable than a bulkier AJ5 or AJ6. For me, it's one of the most versatile silhouettes in the entire Jordan series. Comparing it to other Jordans? The "Air Jordan 4" sits between the 3 and the 5 for me. It's not as plush as a well-worn AJ3, but it's more comfortable than a stiff AJ5 out of the box. The silhouette is more angular and bulky than the 1s or 3s, which is part of its charm. It's a distinct look within the "Jordan series". Comparing it to other Jordans? The Air Jordan 4 sits differently than a Jordan 1. It's bulkier, more of a statement. The cushioning is also different—more impact protection than the 1s, but not as plush as, say, a Jordan 13. It occupies its own unique space in the Jordan series, and that's why it's so beloved. Putting these Jordan 4s on... the fit is true to size for me. The upper is supportive, but I gotta say, the break-in period is real. The forefoot can feel a bit stiff initially. It's not the "most" plush Jordan out of the gate, but that's kinda expected with this model. The Air unit in the heel does its job, though.
