The biggest one? The comfort—or lack thereof. If you're used to React foam or Air Max, the "Air Jordan 1"'s firm feel will be a shock. It's a lifestyle shoe now, but it reminds you of its 1985 roots. That said, the pros—like this unbeatable "Chicago" colorway—far outweigh that for me. It's a piece of history you can wear. Comparing it to my other 1s... The Chicago's materials are consistent with recent retros. I'd say it's on par with the recent 'Bred Reimagined' in terms of build. But that color story? It's in a league of its own. Wearing these, you "feel" the heritage. They're heavier than an Air Jordan 1 Low, for sure, giving that substantial, premium feel on foot. Comparing it to my other 1s? The 'Chicago' colorway is the blueprint. The build quality feels consistent with recent Jordan Series retro releases. Is it worth the $180? If you love the history, 100%. If you’re new to sneakers and want comfort first? Maybe look elsewhere. But man, that design is forever classic. New to Jordans? The "Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Chicago'" is a fantastic, if not "the", starting point. You understand the entire culture from this one shoe. On foot, it's snug--true to size for me. The flat outsole feels great for casual wear. Who should get it? Anyone building a foundational collection. Who shouldn't? Those needing plush, modern cushioning for long walks.
