Wow, that deep purple and black is "really" elegant in-hand. A more mature colorway in the Jordan series, for sure. Putting them on, the construction feels sturdy. They have some weight to them, but not in a bad way—it feels substantial. The leather is decent. Pro: Unique color that stands out from the usual reds and blues. Con: Like all AJ1 Highs, they're not the most breathable. I'd say these are for collectors or style-minded folks wanting something different. Performance basketball players, look at newer models. Finally, the iconic Air Jordan 1 High 'Chicago' (2022 release). Opening this box is like history in your hands. That white/red/black scheme is just timeless. The craftsmanship is excellent. On foot? It's stiff, it's crease-prone, but man, does it make you feel cool 😎. For $180, you're buying a piece of culture. It's the shoe that started it all for the Jordan series. Must-have for purists and fans of the silhouette, but a terrible choice if you want a "set it and forget it" comfortable sneaker. Know what you're buying! Who should skip it? If you need maximum comfort above all else, look at the Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT or a different model entirely. Also, if you have very wide feet, the narrow toe box on this "air jordan 1 high" might be an issue. It's a classic fit, not a modern, roomy one. Comparing it to other Jordans... The "Air Jordan 1 High" is the blueprint. Next to a Jordan 1 Low, it offers more ankle presence (obviously). Versus a chunkier model like the Jordan 5? It's much sleeker and lighter on foot. The price, usually between $180-$200 USD, is pretty standard for the series now. Its biggest advantage is pure versatility. You can dress it up or down easier than most sneakers in my collection.
