Also, OG purists who only value the exact High-top design might dismiss it. If you're all about that specific High-top collar shape and history, a Mid might feel like a compromise. But – and it's a big but – the "SE" versions often bring enough unique flair to stand on their own merits. Who should maybe skip it? Hardcore comfort seekers, for sure. If you need pillow-soft steps, look elsewhere. Also, die-hard OG fans who only rock Highs might see the Mid as a compromise. And if you need a performance basketball shoe? This isn't it, my friends. It's strictly for lifestyle. Here's the potential downside, though: the materials. On my 'Bleached Coral' pair, it's mostly synthetic leather. It's fine, but it won't crease or age as nicely as premium leather. For some collectors, that's a deal-breaker. For a daily beater? It's totally acceptable, especially for the price.
