Sometimes it's a material upgrade, sometimes a unique color combo. In this case, it feels like a step above the general release quality. You're getting a bit more for your money, which I always appreciate. The Jordan series has so many tiers, and this sits in a sweet spot. Who is this for? Honestly, it's perfect for someone who wants the AJ1 look without the high-top price or commitment. Great for beginners in the sneaker game. Who is it "not" for? Hardcore OG purists who only rock Highs, or people who prioritize max cushioning above all else. Now, a potential con. The ankle support. If you’re used to the locked-in feel of a High-top Jordan 1, the "Mid SE" will feel noticeably less secure. It’s not for serious ball anymore (not that any 1s really are). Also, some purists just don’t vibe with the Mid silhouette. It’s a personal preference thing, but it’s worth noting.
