It’s more accessible price-wise than many Retro Highs. The silhouette is nearly identical to the High, just a slightly shorter collar. For daily wear, that difference is minimal. You still get that iconic Jordan Series look & feel. It’s a fantastic entry point into the AJ1 world, no doubt. Comparing it to the OG High version… you lose some of that iconic collar height, but you also gain easier wearability. For $115 USD versus the often-higher High price, it’s a trade-off many are willing to make. The core DNA of the Jordan 1 is absolutely still there in this Mid model. Unboxing this 'Bred Toe' "Air Jordan 1 Mid" – wow, the color blocking is "fire". It immediately channels those OG Chicago/Black Toe vibes. On-foot, the support is notable, especially around the ankle. It's a classic basketball shoe feel, just higher off the ground than you might expect. Pro: Unbeatable style. Con: The ankle padding can feel a bit restrictive if you're not used to it. Definitely a must for AJ1 fans, maybe pass if you prefer low-tops. Let's address the elephant in the room: sneakerheads sometimes sleep on the Mid. But for "actual" everyday wear? I reach for my air jordan 1 mid shoes a lot. They're easier to get on and off than Highs. The break-in period is short, and the leather softens up nicely. If you want a "set it and forget it" sneaker that goes with everything, this is it.
