Wearing them, the ankle support is less than a High, which could be a "pro or con" depending on your preference. They feel lighter, which I like. Honestly, if you're looking for a statement sneaker in the Jordan series that won't break the bank, this Mid delivers. Not for performance basketball, obviously. Open box, and that new sneaker smell hits! The shape on these Mids is slightly bulkier than the OG Highs – you can see it in the toe box and collar. It's not bad, just different. Some colorways use softer leather than others, so check reviews! Overall, for a "Jordan series" entry-point, it delivers. It feels substantial in hand, not cheap. A solid first impression every time. Just got this Air Jordan 1 Mid 'Light Smoke Grey' in hand. Initial thoughts? The materials feel a step up – nice tumbled leather! The grey & white is super wearable. Putting them on... the ankle collar is stiff "initially", but the midfoot lockdown is good. Compared to my Dunks, the AJ1 Mid feels more structured. I love the classic basketball profile on foot. Downside? The outsole is a bit slippery on smooth surfaces. At around $120, it's a great entry into the Jordan series. But if you have wide feet? "Proceed with caution."
