The color blocking is just "chef's kiss". However, the materials are a grade below what you'd find on some Retro Highs. That's the trade-off for the lower price point (~$120). On feet, they look fantastic—the Mid height is very flattering. They're not the most comfortable sneakers in my collection, but for short outings or style purposes, they're excellent. Go for it if you love the colorway; skip if you demand premium materials. Opening this box, the 'Chicago Black Toe' inspired Mid is straight fire. That red just hits different. On feet, the break-in period is minimal - they're comfy right away. Comparing it to the OG High version, you're obviously missing some height, but the style is 95% there for a lower price. The materials here feel a bit nicer than some other Mids I've tried. The suede panels add some great texture. Wearing them, they're surprisingly lightweight, which I dig. So I'm lacing up this Air Jordan 1 Mid 'Chicago'... man, that color blocking is "iconic". The build is pretty standard for Mids – decent but not amazing. On foot, it's true to size with a secure fit. The insole is thin, so I might swap it. Visually, it's a 10/10 – such a statement piece. Compared to a Dunk High, the AJ1 Mid has more of that "heritage" feel. Great for collectors or just rocking a classic. Not so great if you're on your feet all day. Honestly? For $125, you're paying for the look, not groundbreaking tech.
