Initial thoughts? The materials feel a step up – nice tumbled leather! The grey & white is super wearable. Putting them on... the ankle collar is stiff "initially", but the midfoot lockdown is good. Compared to my Dunks, the AJ1 Mid feels more structured. I love the classic basketball profile on foot. Downside? The outsole is a bit slippery on smooth surfaces. At around $120, it's a great entry into the Jordan series. But if you have wide feet? "Proceed with caution." Alright, so, first look out of the box — this ‘Light Smoke Grey’ "Air Jordan 1 Mid" feels premium. The leather is decently soft, not cardboard-stiff, which is a nice surprise for the $125 price point. I’m digging the clean, wearable color-blocking straight away. It’s a classic "Jordan" silhouette that just works. Alright — unboxing this air jordan 1 mid pair (priced at $120 USD, in "Court Purple") gave me instant nostalgia! The color is rich, and the build feels sturdy. On foot, though, the cushioning is minimal — you'll feel the ground, which some might dislike. Versus other Jordans, it's lighter than the Highs. I'd recommend it for collectors or casual wear, but if you need max comfort, look elsewhere. A classic, nonetheless! Who should maybe skip it? Serious performance basketball players -- this isn't 2024 tech. Also, if you're a die-hard sneakerhead who only values the "original" High OG specs and materials, you might be disappointed. This is the more accessible, mass-friendly version of the icon. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that for 99% of people.
