So I just unboxed this new 'Hyper Royal' colorway of the "Air Jordan 1 Mid". The blue is way nicer in person! The build feels solid, no major glue stains or anything. As a shoe in the "Jordan" series, the "Mid" is such a versatile option—easier to style for everyday than some of the high-tops, in my opinion. Opening this box, the 'Chicago Black Toe' inspired Mid is straight fire. That red just hits different. On feet, the break-in period is minimal - they're comfy right away. Comparing it to the OG High version, you're obviously missing some height, but the style is 95% there for a lower price. Biggest pro? Versatility. Con? Some sneakerheads will always prefer the High. But for most people, this Mid does the job perfectly. On feet now! Honestly, the comfort is… okay. It's a flat, firm ride - that's just the nature of the "air jordan 1 mid". Don't expect modern cushioning! The ankle collar is stiff at first, but the overall fit is true-to-size with a secure wrap. Compared to a High OG, the shorter collar offers a bit more ankle mobility. It's a trade-off between that iconic look and day-long comfort.
