It's not a comfort powerhouse. I'd recommend this to someone building a versatile sneaker rotation. If you only own super-soft shoes? This will feel like a brick. On feet now, and the initial feel is... exactly what you expect from an AJ1. It's firm, not plush. The ankle collar on this "Air Jordan 1 Mid" is lower than the Highs, so you get a bit more mobility, which I actually prefer for all-day wear. The lockdown? Solid. No heel slippage for me. It’s a straightforward, reliable fit. Is it perfect? Nah. The main con is the materials can be hit or miss. Some colorways use nicer leather, others use stiffer stuff. This one's okay. Also, if you have wide feet, go up half a size for sure. The break-in period is real. But once they mold to your foot, they're great. It's a classic for a reason, even in its Mid form. Slipping these on for the first time... The fit is true to size, offering a secure, snug wrap around the midfoot, thanks to that classic lace system. The ankle collar, being a Mid, is definitely less restrictive than a High-top. It’s a comfortable, broken-in feel from the jump, which is a huge plus for daily wear.
