The lack of that top ankle collar changes the profile slightly. On my foot, the fit is TTS (true to size), with a snug but not tight wrap. The toe box has enough room. It's a straightforward, no-fuss sneaker that gets the job done – style-wise. Comparing it to other Jordans? The Mid sits, well, in the middle. It’s more affordable than most Highs (this pair is $115), and it’s got more presence than a Low for me. The build quality on this specific ‘Mid’ is good—no major glue stains or anything. A clear advantage is the classic look without the classic High-top price hike, which is a huge pro for a lot of sneakerheads on a budget. Just got this Air Jordan 1 Mid 'Light Smoke Grey' in hand. Initial thoughts? The materials feel a step up – nice tumbled leather! The grey & white is super wearable. Putting them on... the ankle collar is stiff "initially", but the midfoot lockdown is good. Compared to my Dunks, the AJ1 Mid feels more structured. I love the classic basketball profile on foot. Downside? The outsole is a bit slippery on smooth surfaces. At around $120, it's a great entry into the Jordan series. But if you have wide feet? "Proceed with caution."
