Air jordan 1 retro : Comparing it to my Jordan 4s? Night and day difference in comfort [4rwam7is]

The 4s have that air unit; these are much firmer. But for pure style points and that timeless basketball aesthetic, the "Air Jordan 1 Retro" still wins for me. It's the foundation of the entire "Jordan series". You can't go wrong having one in your collection. The biggest pro of the "Air Jordan 1 Retro"? Versatility. Dress 'em up, dress 'em down. The biggest con? That lack of modern cushioning. My feet were definitely talking to me after a long day. It's a trade-off you have to accept with this model. Comparing these to, say, a "Jordan 1 Mid" – the "Retro" high-top just feels more substantial and "correct" to me. The leather on these 'Court Purples' has a nicer grain. Is it worth the extra cash over a Mid? For a purist, probably yes. But if you're just dipping your toes into the "Jordan" series, a Mid is a fantastic and more affordable starting point. Just my two cents! On foot, the silhouette is just flawless. That's the main appeal. However, that high-top can feel restrictive if you have wider feet – just something to consider. If you prioritize aesthetics and a classic vibe over breakthrough tech, the AJ1 retro is your shoe.
