Worth it? For collectors and those who love special materials, absolutely. For a daily beater shoe? Probably not the best choice. After wearing these 'Shadow' 1s all day, here's my take. The ankle support is excellent, but the sole is flat. I wouldn't recommend them for long walks – but for casual wear, a day out? Perfect. At roughly $170 USD, it’s an investment in a legendary sneaker, not in crazy comfort. Who might want to skip? Hardcore comfort seekers, listen up. If you're on your feet all day and need cloud-like comfort, look at other models. Also, if you prefer low-top sneakers for their freedom, the high-top collar here might bug you. The "Jordan 1 Retro" is legendary, but it's not trying to be the most comfortable shoe ever made. Comparing it to my Jordan 4s? Night and day difference in comfort. The 4s have that air unit; these are much firmer. But for pure style points and that timeless basketball aesthetic, the "Air Jordan 1 Retro" still wins for me. It's the foundation of the entire "Jordan series". You can't go wrong having one in your collection.
