It's a great alternative to the classic "Bred" color blocking. Probably not the best choice if you're looking for a breathable summer shoe, though. Opening the box on this ‘Court Purple’ Air Jordan 1 Retro… the colors really pop in person! The shape is on point this year. Wearing them, they feel true to size—secure, not too heavy. The major "pro"? Timeless style. The "con"? They crease easily, and the comfort is just average. If you want a shoe that goes with everything and screams “sneakerhead,” this is it. If comfort is your #1 priority, I’d say skip it. On foot, the design is just timeless. That's the main "advantage" of any "Air Jordan 1 Retro" – they go with almost anything. This specific colorway looks even better in natural light than in promo pics. However, the flat, firm midsole isn't for everyone, especially if you plan on being on your feet all day. As a style piece? 10/10. For all-day comfort? Maybe look elsewhere. Walking in them... you notice the weight. They have a substantial feel, not heavy but "present". The collar digs in a bit at first - that's normal for AJ1s, they need a short break-in. Compared to a dunk? Similar vibe, but the "Air Jordan 1 Retro" has more structure, more "authority" on foot, in my opinion.
