The break-in period is real, folks – they're snug at first, especially in the toebox. The ankle support is fantastic, classic high-top feel. The sole? Firm, as expected from a Jordan 1. They're not "plush," but that's part of the heritage design. If you want cloud-like comfort, this isn't it. But for style & support, it's iconic. Who should "skip" these? If you need all-day, every-day comfort for lots of walking — maybe look at a Jordan 13 or something with more tech. Also, if you're not into high-tops or prefer more understated, all-neutral shoes, this pop of "University Blue" might be a bit much for your personal style. Comparing it to my other 1s, the materials are pretty standard for a modern GR (General Release). Don't expect 1985 quality, but it's perfectly fine for the $180 USD tag. The advantage is that this colorway is arguably one of the best non-OG looks they've released in years. It just works.
