If you're rough on your shoes and hate cleaning them, the white upper will stress you out. Also, if you're on a tight budget, $210 for a retro that doesn't revolutionize anything is a lot. It's a lifestyle sneaker first, performance shoe... well, not at all. Here’s a major pro: the materials. The leather is easy to clean and should age nicely. The mesh panels provide good breathability. It’s a well-made shoe. Also, the iconic design—from the wing eyelets to the plastic heel tab—is executed perfectly here. It just "looks" like a classic sneaker. Comparing it to other models – the AJ4 'White Thunder' sits differently than, say, an AJ1. The 4 is bulkier, more structured. The comfort profile is different, too. I'd say it's more similar to an AJ3 in terms of that chunky, retro feel. If you love the 4's silhouette, this colorway is a fantastic addition. It stands out from the usual neutral or OG colorways we see re-released. Let's get these on feet. Sizing feels pretty true for me. The lockdown is good – that classic AJ4 strap does its job. Comfort? It's a retro, guys. You're not getting ZoomX or anything. The Air unit in the heel is there, but it's a firm, supportive ride. Perfectly fine for casual wear. They're not "heavy", but you definitely feel the structure. It's that vintage basketball shoe feel, for better or worse.
