The price point is also generally better, often under $130 USD. On feet now, and let's talk feel. The "air jordan mid 1" is a retro basketball shoe, so don't expect modern, plush cushioning. It's firm. The ankle support from the mid-top cut is noticeable and good for casual wear. The toe box has room, which I prefer. It's not a heavy shoe, but you feel its presence. If you're used to ultra-boosts or React, this will be a different, more grounded experience. Who should skip these? If you prioritize ultimate comfort or need ankle support for sports, look elsewhere. Also, if you're a purest for OG Highs, you might never love the Mid's profile. But for style and heritage on a budget? It's hard to beat this model. Who might want to skip? If you're a hardcore OG silhouette collector "only" chasing Highs, this isn't it. If you need plush, modern cushioning for long walks, consider something with more tech. And if you dislike obvious creasing on the toe box, maybe look at a different material. Just my two cents!
