But is it a dependable, classic piece you'll wear all the time? Absolutely. The "Air Jordan Mid 1" is a workhorse in my collection. Comparing it to other Jordans... The Air Jordan Mid 1 is like the "accessible" sibling. Next to a Jordan 3 or 4 with Air units, it feels "basic" underfoot. But! Its "simplicity" is its strength. It's "lighter" than most retro models and "easier" to style. For a first Jordan? "Solid" choice. For a comfort-first sneakerhead? "Maybe" look "elsewhere". Okay, so I just unboxed this pair of Air Jordan Mid 1s in the Black / White colorway, and honestly? The first thing that hits you is that classic silhouette. It's just "iconic". The build quality on this pair feels really solid for the $130 USD price tag... the leather has a decent grain to it. As a Mid, it sits perfectly between a High and a Low in the Jordan 1 family. Comparing it to my Jordan 1 Highs... the Air Jordan Mid 1 is simply easier to live with daily. The Highs are more of a statement, but these Mids are just effortlessly cool and less of a hassle to put on and take off. For the price difference? That's a huge plus in my book.
