The classic silhouette is instantly recognizable. I was "slightly" concerned about the mid-top height, but holding them, the proportions look great. It's a timeless piece of the Jordan series that feels built to last. First impression? Very, very positive. Comparing it to its big brother, the AJ1 High... the "air jordan mid 1" offers a slightly more accessible vibe. You lose some of the high-top's lockdown and that iconic tall collar, but you gain a bit easier wearability. It sits nicely between the High and the Low. If the High sometimes feels too restrictive for you, the "mid 1" at $135 could be a perfect middle ground in the "Jordan" family. Okay, checking out this new 'Light Smoke Grey' Air Jordan Mid 1. The color-blocking is subtle and really versatile. The suede feels nice in hand! On feet, they're light and the break-in period isn't too bad. Comparing it to a Jordan 1 High, you lose some ankle support but gain easier mobility. Big pro: easier to put on and off. Con? The outsole is flat—not the best for all-day walking on concrete. Great for collectors who want a wearable, stylish Mid. Comparing it to my Jordan 1 Highs... the Air Jordan Mid 1 is simply easier to live with daily. The Highs are more of a statement, but these Mids are just effortlessly cool and less of a hassle to put on and take off. For the price difference? That's a huge plus in my book.
