The value is there - you're paying for the design and heritage. It's not the most comfortable shoe in my rotation, but it's one of the most reliable for looks. The Air Jordan Mid 1 just works. For under $140, it's a solid pickup in my book. Alright, so I just unboxed these Air Jordan Mid 1s in the "University Blue" colorway, and "wow" – the color pop is immediate. The leather feels decent for the $125 price point, and that classic Mid silhouette is just "chef's kiss". It's a straightforward, clean Jordan 1, no crazy gimmicks. If you love the AJ1 look but want something a bit more accessible — price-wise and height-wise — than the Highs, this is a solid pick. So, I just put these on. The fit is true to size for me—nice and snug around the midfoot. The ankle collar on this "Mid" version gives a good amount of support without feeling restrictive. They're pretty light on foot, which I always appreciate. The insole is basic, so don't expect crazy cushioning... but for casual wear? They're perfectly comfortable right out of the box. Comparing these to other Jordans? The Air Jordan Mid 1 sits perfectly between the High & the Low. You lose some of the High's "legendary" ankle coverage & styling options, but you gain a bit more everyday flexibility. Versus a modern Jordan like the 36? It's a completely different world — this is about heritage, not performance tech. For $135 USD, it's a style piece.
