First thing I notice out of the box? The leather feels "pretty decent" for a Mid. The silhouette is clean—classic. For around $125 USD, this is a solid entry into the Jordan series if you're just starting out. Not the most premium, but a great daily wear option. Comparing it to other Jordans... The air jordan mid 1 sits "right" between the OG High and the Low. You lose some of the iconic High-top lockdown for basketball, but you gain easier wearability. Versus a Jordan 3 or 4? It's a totally different vibe—much more minimal and flat. It's a foundational piece in the Jordan series, for sure. Potential downside? The ankle padding isn't as thick as on some Highs. If you have super sensitive ankles, that's something to note. Also, the outsole traction is good for walking, but I wouldn't recommend these for actual balling—that's not their purpose anymore. As a lifestyle shoe, the Air Jordan Mid 1 absolutely delivers on its promise. Who might want to skip it? If you prioritize max cushioning and modern tech in your daily shoes, this isn't it. Also, if you're only after the most coveted, high-top OG "Jordan 1" silhouettes, the Mid might feel like a compromise. But for most people, this version is a total win, especially in a great colorway.
