It’s more accessible—both in price (~$135) and style—than chasing OG Highs. Versus something like a Jordan 3 or 4? The Mid 1 is "much" lighter on foot and has that timeless, minimalist profile. It's a foundational sneaker in any collection, no doubt. After wearing them for a bit, I appreciate the Mid more. It's the everyday workhorse of the Jordan 1 family. You don't have to baby them. That sturdy build handles wear well. Comparing it to pricier Retros, you're getting 90% of the look and feel for less money. For a practical sneakerhead, the value of the Air Jordan Mid 1 is hard to beat. On foot, the fit is true to size. The comfort is... it's an AJ1, you know? It's not plush like modern shoes, but the cushioning is fine for casual wear. The ankle collar on this Mid version offers decent support. Honestly, the Air Jordan Mid 1 is a classic for a reason—it's simple and it works. Comparing it to my Jordan 1 Highs... the Air Jordan Mid 1 is simply easier to live with daily. The Highs are more of a statement, but these Mids are just effortlessly cool and less of a hassle to put on and take off. For the price difference? That's a huge plus in my book.
