The Mid 1 has this "perfect" height that "doesn't" cut your leg off like a High sometimes can. This "Shadow" grey colorway is "especially" versatile. The "downside", again, is material "quality"—it can crease "pretty" easily. But "honestly", for the price point in the Jordan lineup, it's a "fair" compromise for such a clean, wearable silhouette. On foot, the design really pops. The Mid cut is super versatile — it works perfectly with jeans or shorts. In natural light, the leather on this pair has a nice sheen. Compared to some recent Air Jordan 1 Lows, the Mid 1 feels a bit more substantial and 'complete' to me. It's a clean, everyday look. Comfort-wise, temper your expectations. This isn't a Boost or React sneaker. The cushioning is simple—it's more about style and support than cloud-like comfort. After breaking them in, they become very comfortable for all-day wear (walking, standing). Just don't expect a performance basketball shoe feel from the Air Jordan 1 Mid in 2024. Comparing it directly to my Jordan 1 Highs… the main difference is the collar height, obviously. The Air Jordan Mid 1 offers a bit more everyday flexibility. You can wear it with more pant styles without the high-top bunching up. However, the materials on this Mid version often feel a step down from most retro High releases. It’s a trade-off for the lower price point, which is around $125 USD.
