If you're used to modern, plush sneakers, the Air Jordan Mid 1 will feel "firm". There's a small Air unit in the heel, but it's not a "comfort-first" shoe. It's built on a 1985 blueprint! Also, the leather quality can vary by colorway. This one's decent, but don't expect super-supple tumbled leather on this specific release. For real, the camera LOVES this shoe. I'm filming in some jeans, and the Air Jordan Mid 1 just pops. The black, white, and red color blocking is "timeless". Compared to the OG Highs, you're losing some ankle coverage, but you're gaining a slightly more modern, everyday-friendly profile. It's a win for casual style, hands down. Who should "maybe" skip it? Hardcore performance basketball players — this isn't your modern tool. Also, if ultimate, cloud-like comfort is your #1 priority, look at newer models. And if you're a purist who "only" rocks Highs for that authentic look, the Mid's shorter collar might not do it for you. But for most? It's a "solid", iconic choice. On foot, the design really pops. The contrast of the black and white panels is so clean and versatile. I've been wearing these for a few hours now, and they look great with jeans or shorts. The Mid cut is, in my opinion, super underrated in the whole Jordan series. It offers a perfect balance for a lot of outfits.
