The value is there - you're paying for the design and heritage. It's not the most comfortable shoe in my rotation, but it's one of the most reliable for looks. The Air Jordan Mid 1 just works. For under $140, it's a solid pickup in my book. Who should skip it? If you're all about the "highest" quality materials or need that plush, modern cushioning… look elsewhere. Also, hardcore purists who only mess with the OG High-top silhouette might not vibe with the Mid's shorter cut. It's a different beast within the Jordan series. Conversely, who should skip it? Hardcore comfort seekers, for sure. Also, if you're a purest for the original '85 High OG shape and details, the Mid’s proportions might feel off. And if you already have multiple similar colorways in the Jordan series, this might be a pass. It’s a fantastic shoe, but it doesn’t reinvent the wheel. Alright, let's get into these Air Jordan Mid 1s. First impression out of the box? The shape & construction are on point — super clean! This classic silhouette always hits. I got the "White/University Red" colorway, & for $135 USD, the materials feel solid. The leather is decent, not super premium, but honestly? For a Mid, it's exactly what I expected. A great entry into the Jordan series, for sure.
