You get iconic style, decent comfort for walking, and a ton of versatility. It won't blow your mind with tech, but it "will" complete a lot of fits. I'd recommend it, especially in a clean color-blocking like this. Potential con? The tech, or lack thereof. It's a 1985 design, so the cushioning is basic. If you're used to modern, plush sneakers, the firm feel might be a shock. Also, the ankle collar on this Mid cut — while comfortable — offers less lockdown than a High for actual basketball. Know what you're buying: a lifestyle icon, "not" a performance beast. Now, a potential "con": The toe box creases... and it creases "fast". If you're someone who hates that vintage look, be warned. Also, the traction on smooth wet surfaces can be a little sketchy. It's a lifestyle shoe now, so just manage your expectations for performance. It's all about the style with this one. Comparing it directly to the AJ1 High? The "air jordan mid 1" obviously has one less lace hole, so the ankle feel is different—a bit more free. Some purists will always prefer the High, and I get that! But for casual, all-day comfort and easier on/off, I actually prefer the Mid. It's a personal thing, really.
