This "Jordan" series offering is about the silhouette and color first. It's built to last as a casual wear shoe. Comparing it directly to my Jordan 1 Highs… the main difference is the collar height, obviously. The Air Jordan Mid 1 offers a bit more everyday flexibility. You can wear it with more pant styles without the high-top bunching up. However, the materials on this Mid version often feel a step down from most retro High releases. It’s a trade-off for the lower price point, which is around $125 USD. Comparing it to other Jordans... The Air Jordan Mid 1 is like the "accessible" sibling. Next to a Jordan 3 or 4 with Air units, it feels "basic" underfoot. But! Its "simplicity" is its strength. It's "lighter" than most retro models and "easier" to style. For a first Jordan? "Solid" choice. For a comfort-first sneakerhead? "Maybe" look "elsewhere". To wrap it up: I'm really happy with these. They look sharp on camera and even better in person. The Jordan Mid 1 fills a specific niche wonderfully. It's not trying to be the High, and that's okay!
