This is a staple. The color blocking is arguably one of the best ever. In-hand, the shoe feels robust. Upon wearing, the break-in is real—give it a few wears. Compared to the High version, it's essentially the same experience from the ankle down. Major pro: Timeless style that goes with literally anything. The $125 price is fair for a piece of sneaker history. Not for you if you need modern, pillowy comfort from the first step. Comparing it directly to an Air Jordan 1 High, the Mid obviously gives you less ankle coverage. For some, that's a plus for mobility and a cleaner look. For pure, classic basketball aesthetic, the High wins. But for daily versatility? The Mid 1 holds its own, no doubt. So, I just put these on. The fit is true to size for me—nice and snug around the midfoot. The ankle collar on this "Mid" version gives a good amount of support without feeling restrictive. They're pretty light on foot, which I always appreciate. The insole is basic, so don't expect crazy cushioning... but for casual wear? They're perfectly comfortable right out of the box. Comparing it to my Jordan 1 Highs... the Air Jordan Mid 1 is simply easier to live with daily. The Highs are more of a statement, but these Mids are just effortlessly cool and less of a hassle to put on and take off. For the price difference? That's a huge plus in my book.
