Compared to some bulkier Jordan models (looking at you, 4s and 5s!), the Mid 1 is sleek and surprisingly lightweight on foot. A major plus! Unboxing this "Black Toe" Mid 1 was "fun". The color-blocking is "just" iconic—red, black, white—it "pops". But, touching the materials? Yeah, it's the "typical" stiff, synthetic leather. Don't expect buttery "softness". On foot, the "fit" is "true" to size. It's a "straightforward", no-nonsense shoe from the Jordan series. If you're cool with a "break-in" period for that classic style, you'll "love" it. Slipping these on... the fit is true to size for me. The ankle collar on the Mid — it's definitely "noticeable" — gives a secure, locked-down feel. It's not a super plush, modern cushioning setup, but that's the authentic AJ1 experience. If you're used to super-soft shoes, be aware. For style and that iconic feel? The Air Jordan Mid 1 delivers. First thoughts holding this "Air Jordan 1 Mid" ‘University Blue’: the color is vibrant, and the build looks tidy. Sliding them on, the break-in is quick – a big plus. The silhouette is iconic, and the mid-cut is arguably the most practical for daily life. I own Highs, but I find myself reaching for Mids more often for errands. The clear advantage is the classic look and easy wear. The downside? The materials can sometimes feel a grade below the Highs. Priced at $125, it's a fair deal. It's perfect for a casual wardrobe staple. If you're all about premium materials, maybe save for a High OG release.
