It’s more accessible—both in price (~$135) and style—than chasing OG Highs. Versus something like a Jordan 3 or 4? The Mid 1 is "much" lighter on foot and has that timeless, minimalist profile. It's a foundational sneaker in any collection, no doubt. Who should "maybe" skip it? Hardcore performance basketball players — this isn't your modern tool. Also, if ultimate, cloud-like comfort is your #1 priority, look at newer models. And if you're a purist who "only" rocks Highs for that authentic look, the Mid's shorter collar might not do it for you. But for most? It's a "solid", iconic choice. Comparing it directly to my Jordan 1 Highs... the Mid feels lighter, slightly easier to get on and off. The collar height is the main difference – it hits right at/above the ankle bone. Some prefer that; some don't. For the price difference? Sometimes it's significant, making this Air Jordan Mid 1 a smart buy. On foot, they feel secure. The ankle support from the Mid collar is noticeable without being restrictive? It's a great balance. Visually, this "Shadow" colorway is super clean and goes with literally everything. For a classic sneaker from the Jordan series under $150, it's hard to argue with the value proposition here.
