You can dress it up or down, and it works for so many fits. The build, for the price, is consistent. My pair had no glue stains or major flaws. If you want a piece of the Jordan 1 story without the High top price or feel, this "air jordan mid 1" model is a fantastic option. Now, the not-so-great part. If you need plush cushioning for all-day wear or balling, look elsewhere. This is a retro basketball shoe in design only. Also, that stiff leather can crease in a pretty noticeable way. It's part of the charm for some, but if you like your sneakers pristine, this might bug you. Now, a potential "con": the comfort tech is dated. If you're coming from modern sneakers with Zoom or Boost, the firm ride of the "air jordan mid 1" will be noticeable. It breaks in, but don't expect plushness. Also, the Mid cut can feel a bit "in-between" for some—not as supportive as a High, not as minimal as a Low. Something to consider. Comparing it directly to the AJ1 High? The "air jordan mid 1" obviously has one less lace hole, so the ankle feel is different—a bit more free. Some purists will always prefer the High, and I get that! But for casual, all-day comfort and easier on/off, I actually prefer the Mid. It's a personal thing, really.
