It's a workhorse in a collection. Is it comfortable? Not initially. Is it stylish and durable? Absolutely. I'd recommend it—but go in knowing you'll have a short break-in period. Compared to my other Jordans… the "black Air Jordan 1" is definitely heavier and stiffer than, say, a Jordan 3 or 4. The break-in period is real. But the "ankle support" feels more secure for casual wear. It's not a performance shoe, but that locked-in feel is there. Versus other AJ1 colorways, the material quality here feels standard, not premium, but consistent. Who should skip it? If you prioritize cutting-edge comfort above all, this ain't it. Also, if you already have multiple black-based Jordans, maybe pass. But if you don't have a simple, all-black leather sneaker? The "black air jordan 1" fills that role perfectly. It's a foundational piece. Now, the "cons" – the potential dealbreakers. The comfort is "not" modern. If you're used to React or Boost, this will feel like a brick. Also, the all-black design can look a bit... harsh or "uniform" to some. It lacks the playful personality of other "Jordan 1s". It’s definitely not for everyone, especially if you prioritize foot-feel over form.
