The monogram on the lining, the icy outsole... it's all flawless. However, a potential con for some? It's almost "too" nice. I'm hesitant to crease that pristine leather! Compared to my other Jordan series retros, this feels like a display piece you occasionally wear. If you want a beater sneaker, this $2,000 USD "dior air jordan 1" is NOT it. It's for collectors who appreciate art. So, final verdict? If you have the means and this is your dream shoe, I say go for it – you won't regret the craftsmanship. But if you're looking for the best "value" or daily beater in the Jordan series? Look elsewhere. This is a special occasion piece, through and through. Comparing this to a standard retro "Jordan 1" is almost unfair. It's like comparing a regular suit to a bespoke one. The shape is slightly refined, the materials are in another universe, & the craftsmanship is next-level. The $2200 USD price tag? That's the elephant in the room. You're paying for the collaboration, the name, & the extreme scarcity. As a "shoe", it's a masterpiece. As a purchase? It's complex. After wearing them for a day, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, the dior air jordan 1 is probably the most beautifully made sneaker I own. On the other, I'm constantly aware of them – every step feels precious. The sole is quite hard. It's not a "forget you're wearing them" kind of shoe. It's a piece you "feel" & "see". That's its appeal & its drawback, depending on what you're looking for.
