The main drawback is the comfort tech (or lack thereof) by today's standards. But if you want a sneaker that "always" looks good, tells a story, and elevates your fit, this Jordan series staple is an easy recommendation. Just manage those comfort expectations! Conversely, who should maybe look elsewhere? Hardcore comfort seekers or performance basketball players. This is a 1985 design— it’s not built for today's game or for all-day walking comfort. If your priority is a pillowy, energy-returning feel straight out of the box, you might be disappointed. There are simply better modern options for that specific need. On-foot review: day two. They're breaking in a bit! The comfort improves slightly as the materials loosen. I still love putting them on. The "Jordan Air 1"'s biggest strength is its "versatility". Dress it up, dress it down. The high-top provides decent ankle "presence" without being restrictive. If you're on the fence, and style > max comfort is your priority, I'd say go for it. It's a cornerstone sneaker. On feet now, and just looking down... man, the design is timeless. This specific color-blocking is so versatile. On camera, the "jordan air 1" just "pops". The high-top profile gives that iconic look. Compared to, say, an AJ4, it's lighter on foot and less bulky. Major advantage? Style. You can wear this Jordan series model with literally anything – jeans, shorts, joggers. It's a wardrobe staple.
