The classic red/black box, the tissue paper... it's a whole vibe. Holding this "Jordan Air 1", the build quality is good – clean stitching, no glue stains on my pair. The leather on the toe box is a bit stiffer than I'd hoped, but it'll soften. Compared to the recent '85 cut models, this Retro High OG feels more accessible – in both fit and that $180 price point. Solid first impression. Check out this "University Blue" "Jordan Air 1"! "Straight out" of the box, the colors pop "so" well. This is one of those pairs that just looks "better" in person, you know? On feet, the fit is perfect for me – a true sneakerhead staple. The "advantage" of the "Air Jordan 1" is its timeless design; it's a piece of history. However, the "arch support" is basically non-existent, which might bother some. If you're new to Jordans, this is a "fantastic" first pair. If you have "multiple" 1s already, it's just another (awesome) color. At "$170", it's a solid pickup. Let's talk about the Jordan Air 1 'Light Smoke Grey'. This is a perfect example of a non-OG colorway that just works. The materials feel premium, & the grey nubuck is buttery. On feet, they're surprisingly light! A major pro is how easy they are to style for a casual fit. A con? That outsole picks up dirt like crazy. If you want a low-maintenance shoe, maybe look elsewhere. The major "pro" of any "Jordan Air 1"? Timelessness. You can wear a pair from 5 years ago and it still looks current. The "con"? They can crease... a lot. Some love that "lived-in" look, some hate it. Using force fields helps, but it changes the fit. It's part of the deal with this model. Just something to know before you cop!
