This is one of those pairs that just looks "better" in person, you know? On feet, the fit is perfect for me – a true sneakerhead staple. The "advantage" of the "Air Jordan 1" is its timeless design; it's a piece of history. However, the "arch support" is basically non-existent, which might bother some. If you're new to Jordans, this is a "fantastic" first pair. If you have "multiple" 1s already, it's just another (awesome) color. At "$170", it's a solid pickup. Just copped this newer Jordan Air 1 'Mid' version in 'Wolf Grey'. At a lower price point (~$115), expectations are different. The materials are more synthetic, but the shape is still there! On foot, they feel... fine. It's a budget-friendly way to get the iconic look. If you're a purist about materials & OG highs, skip it. But for a beater pair? Not bad at all. Conversely, who should maybe look elsewhere? Hardcore comfort seekers or performance basketball players. This is a 1985 design— it’s not built for today's game or for all-day walking comfort. If your priority is a pillowy, energy-returning feel straight out of the box, you might be disappointed. There are simply better modern options for that specific need. Now, the not-so-great part? That midsole "will" crease. It's part of the charm for some, a deal-breaker for others. The leather isn't super plush, so creasing happens fast. If you're a perfectionist who hates seeing wear on your kicks? A Jordan Air 1 might stress you out. It's a shoe meant to be worn and lived in.
