This is one of those pairs that just looks "better" in person, you know? On feet, the fit is perfect for me – a true sneakerhead staple. The "advantage" of the "Air Jordan 1" is its timeless design; it's a piece of history. However, the "arch support" is basically non-existent, which might bother some. If you're new to Jordans, this is a "fantastic" first pair. If you have "multiple" 1s already, it's just another (awesome) color. At "$170", it's a solid pickup. Bottom line from my personal wear test: I'm keeping these in heavy rotation. They're easy, they're classic, and they make any simple outfit look considered. The Jordan Air 1 isn't trying to be something it's not. For $180 USD in the Jordan series, you know exactly what you're getting – and sometimes, that's exactly what you need. Now, the "cons"—the potential deal-breakers. The comfort is "not" for everyone. If you need plush cushioning, look at "Jordan 11"s or "13"s. Also, the leather can crease noticeably (part of the charm for some, a flaw for others). And that high-top can feel restrictive if you're used to lows. It's a style-over-maximum-comfort pick, period. On feet, this colorway "pops". The white, black, and Chicago Red just work with everything — jeans, shorts, you name it. The design is so clean and versatile. Compared to some bulkier modern Jordans, the air 1 profile is sleek. It's a shoe that looks better with wear, too. That's a huge plus for me.
