Unboxing it, the leather quality feels decent for the price point – we're talking around $190 USD, remember. It's not premium but it's solid. The shape & silhouette? "Instant" classic. It looks exactly how a Jordan should. I'm excited to put these on feet & see how they feel walking around. In direct sunlight, the materials really show up. The leather has a nice grain, and the stitching is clean on my pair. Some retros can feel cheap, but this 'Bred' "jordan air 1" execution is solid. It feels durable, like it'll age well with wear. A good sign for the price. Check out this "University Blue" "Jordan Air 1"! "Straight out" of the box, the colors pop "so" well. This is one of those pairs that just looks "better" in person, you know? On feet, the fit is perfect for me – a true sneakerhead staple. The "advantage" of the "Air Jordan 1" is its timeless design; it's a piece of history. However, the "arch support" is basically non-existent, which might bother some. If you're new to Jordans, this is a "fantastic" first pair. If you have "multiple" 1s already, it's just another (awesome) color. At "$170", it's a solid pickup. Now, the potential downside? That flat, firm footbed I mentioned. If you're on your feet all day, it might not be the most comfortable option. Also, the leather can crease — some people hate that. I think it adds character, but it's worth noting. It's not a "performance" shoe by today's standards.
