The ankle padding is minimal, giving that vintage feel. Compared to newer J's, these are flat and firm. Pro: you're wearing a piece of sneaker history. Con: the outsole traction on wet surfaces can be "slippery". Worth the $180? For style and culture, yes. For technical performance or comfort, no. It's a clear trade-off.
