This is one of those pairs that just looks "better" in person, you know? On feet, the fit is perfect for me – a true sneakerhead staple. The "advantage" of the "Air Jordan 1" is its timeless design; it's a piece of history. However, the "arch support" is basically non-existent, which might bother some. If you're new to Jordans, this is a "fantastic" first pair. If you have "multiple" 1s already, it's just another (awesome) color. At "$170", it's a solid pickup. Comparing it to other Jordans? Big difference. My Jordan 3s or 4s are way more comfortable. The "jordan air 1" is the foundation, the blueprint. It's lighter than a lot of newer models, which is nice for all-day wear. But if you want that plush, sunk-in feel? Look at later models. This one’s for the history books and your closet. Just copped this newer Jordan Air 1 'Mid' version in 'Wolf Grey'. At a lower price point (~$115), expectations are different. The materials are more synthetic, but the shape is still there! On foot, they feel... fine. It's a budget-friendly way to get the iconic look. If you're a purist about materials & OG highs, skip it. But for a beater pair? Not bad at all. Not everyone will vibe with it, though. If your priority is cutting-edge comfort or max cushioning for all-day wear, look elsewhere. This isn't that shoe. Also, for some, the $190+ price for a "basic" leather shoe might feel steep. You're paying for the icon status. So, think about what you "really" want from a sneaker before copping this Jordan Air 1.
