It's about support, not plushness. The ankle collar gives great lockdown, though. If you're coming from a modern runner or even an Air Jordan 4, the break-in period for this Jordan Air 1 might feel a bit... "stiff" at first. Who is this NOT for? If you need maximum cushioning for all-day comfort, look elsewhere. Also, if you have a wider foot, the "Jordan Air 1" can feel narrow in the toebox — it might require a break-in period or even sizing up. It's a classic, but not necessarily the most "accommodating" shape for everyone. That's a real point to consider before buying. Comparing it to other Jordans: the "Jordan Air 1" is the foundation.
