They're breaking in a bit! The comfort improves slightly as the materials loosen. I still love putting them on. The "Jordan Air 1"'s biggest strength is its "versatility". Dress it up, dress it down. The high-top provides decent ankle "presence" without being restrictive. If you're on the fence, and style > max comfort is your priority, I'd say go for it. It's a cornerstone sneaker. On foot now, and the fit is true to size for me. The break-in period is real with these, especially around the heel and ankle collar - it can be stiff at first. The cushioning? It's not plush like some modern sneakers, but that's the classic Air 1 feel. You get that solid, grounded sensation, which I actually prefer for all-day wear. Who should probably skip it? Hardcore performance basketball players (obviously) or folks who only buy sneakers based on advanced cushioning tech. Also, if you're super sensitive to a stiff break-in period, this might frustrate you. There are more comfortable "lifestyle" shoes out there for the same price, for sure.
