You're buying a piece of history and a forever-stylish silhouette. Don't buy it for the "tech." Buy it because it makes your outfit look fire and connects you to sneaker culture's roots. As a style piece, it's absolutely worth it in my collection. Potential con? The "tech is dated". If you're used to React or Zoom, the "jordan air 1" will feel flat. The leather can also crease pretty noticeably - some hate that, I think it adds character. Also, breathability isn't great. It’s not a performance shoe, so manage those expectations, folks.
