It's less about hype and more about function and style. For a pure, versatile, and tough daily wearer, I'd pick this over many others in the Jordan series for that specific job. Comparing it to, say, a Jordan 1 – this is a different beast. The "jordan air force 1" is bulkier and offers more coverage around the ankle. The toe box is roomier. It's less of a basketball shoe in feel nowadays and more of a lifestyle staple. If you want that classic '80s hoop look, this is it. The Air unit is there, but don't expect Zoom Air responsiveness.
