Immediately, you lose that iconic high-top silhouette, but you gain a lot in everyday wearability. They’re easier to slip on and off, and feel a bit less bulky. The cushioning is the same—reliable, but not bouncy. For me, the low is a better summer shoe and works with shorts more easily. It's still a "Jordan" icon, just in a more low-key package. If you love the AF1 style but find the mids too restrictive, the low is your answer. Not the best if you need serious ankle support, obviously. So I finally got this "Jordan Air Force 1" Mid in the "'Black'" leather. Initial thoughts? The classic shape is just "untouchable". On feet, the ankle support from the mid-top is noticeable—feels sturdy! It’s a timeless, tough look for sure. Compared to a Jordan 1, it's definitely more bulky & less sporty. Love it for the "attitude" it brings to a fit. Not the most flexible shoe, but for ~$150? A wardrobe staple, 100%. Alright, on feet now. The "Air Force 1" midsole gives you that classic, slightly elevated look. The leather upper on this particular "Jordan" version feels premium compared to some GRs. But – and it's a big but – these are "heavy" shoes. You feel it walking around. The ankle padding is great for support, though. It's a classic for a reason, but if you're sensitive to shoe weight, this might not be your all-day, every-day pick. Look at this premium leather version of the Jordan Air Force 1. Unboxing it, you immediately feel the upgrade in material quality - so much softer. On foot, the comfort is a step above the standard model, with less break-in time. The silhouette, of course, remains perfect. The pro is obviously the superior materials, justifying a ~$150 price tag. The con? You're still getting the same basic tooling and cushioning. Compared to other Jordan series focused on tech, like the 34s, this is purely about style and materials. I’d suggest these for sneakerheads who appreciate quality leather. Performance seekers should skip.
