Aesthetically, they elevate simple fits instantly. However, don't be fooled by the "Air" name; the cushioning is minimal by today's standards. It's more about that classic, slightly elevated look. If you love the '80s basketball aesthetic & want that authentic feel, you'll love these. If you need modern comfort, you might be disappointed. On-foot feel update: After a full day, the cushioning is… adequate. The air unit in the heel is noticeable, but the forefoot is firm. They're not uncomfortable, just "substantial". You feel the weight (which isn't crazy, but it's there). The leather started to crease naturally – which I actually like on an AF1. It adds character.
